The Legacy of Tolerance -- Standing International Magazine

May 2022 By Jérôme Lamy

The United Arab Emirates and Dubai at the center of the world, where all eyes converge. Expo Dubai 2020 was the first international gathering after the Covid-19 pandemic and the largest event ever held in the Middle East. Postponed for a year due to the health crisis, this major meeting will be remembered. The organizers, who performed miracles in such a difficult context, did not miss their appointment with history.

For our part, just as we were celebrating the birth of our new media, we had the constant concern of not missing out on our encounter with the United Arab Emirates. Standing Magazine will be the leading international media (paper and digital) covering the United Arab Emirates and Europe, notably between Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Paris. Written in French and English, Standing will be distributed in more than 500 five-star hotels in France, England, Switzerland, Monaco and of course the United Arab Emirates.

The ambition is to communicate the cultural, touristic, economic and diplomatic assets of the United Arab Emirates in Europe. To highlight the values of tolerance, benevolence and coexistence that flow through the veins of each Emirati, the same noble values emerging from the late Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyane, who founded the United Arab Emirates fifty years ago.

We understand better why he was nicknamed the wiseman of the Arabs. We can also understand the excellence and expectations of the current leaders, of Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyane, Emir of Abu Dhabi and President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohammed bin Rachid Al Maktoum, Emir of Dubai and Vice President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyane, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Hamdan ben Mohammed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai.

At the end oh his life, Sheikh Zayed said that the United Arab Emirates had no closer friends than France. The idea is also to promote the friendly ties between France and the United Arab Emirates, which go back generations. Xavier Chatel, the French Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates and Jack Lang, President of the Arab World Institute, have saluted this in our current issue where we focus on the French community in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. In the next issue, we will get even closer to key players in the region. Those who are transforming their country and the world view of tradition and modernity.
